Small beginnings

Small beginnings. Meaningful possibilities.

In the Angelic & Co. Studio, learning happens through doing. Young women help prepare products, practice working together, and see the care and responsibility behind a small business.

Radiant Bloom Youth Development is growing from these experiences. Our purpose is to offer patient guidance and meaningful responsibility in a welcoming environment—so participants can try something new, ask questions, and discover strengths they can carry into school, work, and life.

What Selma gets back, from day one.

Employers’ top skills, practiced early.

Roughly 90% of employers look for problem-solving and 80% for teamwork before anything else. Bloom & Build is built around them: customer-service practice, business math, team product projects, and a closing showcase.

Entrepreneurs who start small.

Small businesses are 99.4% of Alabama’s businesses, employ 46.7% of its workers, and created 79.1% of its net new jobs in 2022–23. Participants learn how one runs from the inside, from costs to customers.

Dollars and experience that stay in Selma.

Workshop budgets go to supplies, journals, printing, and refreshments at the Angelic & Co. Studio in Selma, and every participant leaves with experience she can name on a first application or a first business plan.
